We saw the hand surgeon today. He was quick, efficient, and straight to the point. Joshua will have surgery next Wednesday (6/3) to repair damage to both nerves and one of the tendons in his finger. He'll have a hardcore brace for at least a month and then it will be physical therapy.
Prayer requests at this point are:
1) that the surgery go well
2) that Joshua is able to "wield" his camera with his fancy brace
3) for grace and understanding at work since Joshua is not only using up a bunch of sick time, but also he is needing accommodations to do his job one handed
4) patience for me as I take care of a one handed patient and a curious toddler
5) that Joshua heals quickly and completely and
6) monetary provision...surgery and physical therapy aren't cheap...but the Lord has always provided for us in situations like this.
If anyone wants to volunteer hands to help us finish unpacking the apartment or get our out of control yard under control, we would love some help. Joshua will be able to do some things one-handed, but will also need to be mindful of his limitations so that he can heal up properly.
So, that's the word from the doc. I'll make sure to update y'all after the surgery to let you know how it goes.

Hi Sarah! We are free after church this coming Sunday the 31st or next Sunday the 7th (out at 10am). We'd be available to come out and help in the yard / unpacking either of these days, and can bring Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner, too! Dana would love to play with Ainsley. Let us know if either day would work for you.
Love, Jen
If there's a time that y'all are going to be working on unpacking, I would be glad to help. I will be slightly less available over the next week or two than usual because of stuff going on in my house and needing to be available, but I'm sure I could find some time to come help.
(That's Jackie from SSA, btw)
